I love to be busy, as you can probably tell from my blog. Keeping everyone happy is a bit of a balancing act.
The kids love nothing more than when I take some time out to sit on the mat and play a game.
Jenga is one of our favourites. Everyone can play. It takes nerves of steel. It’s heaps of fun and generally ends with lots of laughter (but sometimes tears!).
What’s your favourite game to play with the kids?
Hi Lisa,
We’re a card playing family. We were flooded in last week with all the rain so we (with grandparents too) played Uno, Sleeping Queens (a new one that Grandma bought and it’s really great) and we also played dominos.
Another favourite is the Mad Magazine Card Game which Paul had as a kid and is like Uno only much crazier
Lots of fun for adults and kids alike.
We love Uno too and have many fond memories of playing on trains as we travelled around Europe earlier this year. Those train tables can be awfully slippery, particularly with a brand new set of Uno cards. The whole pile went sliding off onto the floor more than once as the train rounded a corner. Another fun game was pick the Uno cards up off the ground! Sounds like you made the most of your time ‘flooded in’.
we love the kids versions of mastermind, scrabble and monopoly……..all classics I guess some things never change! I never had mouse trap as a kid and always wanted it so that’s on the Christmas list – hope it’s as good as I thought it was going to be or I’m going to be very disappointed.
Yes – I always wanted mouse trap too.
